Harmonic Movement Class
Harmonic movement techniques are super fun, and there are endless techniques to sound polished! We can use a variety of chord shapes and chord types to harmonize parts of melodies in jazz standards, creating unique and irresistible styles.
In this workshop, we’ll study jazz upper structures to use as movement harmonies, as well as drop 2 chords, diminished and fourth chords. This class is designed to help students play a standard with Bill Evans type finesse. We also use a few Barry Harris techniques and Bach counterpoint.

I use teaching techniques passed down from greats, such as Mulgrew Miller, Joe Bonner, and more. We move specific blocks from the brain that may have prevented you from learning to play this music.
